Mass Cytometry

About Mass Cytometry

  • Cytometry by time-of-flight (CyTOF®), or generically, Mass Cytometry(MC) is a hybrid technology of flow cytometry and mass spectrometry to detect metal-conjugated antibodies that are bound intracellularly or extracellularly to antigens of interest on single cells.

Advantages of core technology over existing technology problems

  • Since 2018, the application of immunophenotyping based on mass cytometry to immune cells has increased rapidly in the analysis of immune responses related to autoimmune diseases, viral infectious diseases, cancer, and personalized medicine. (Biology 2021, 10(2), 104)

Fluorescence labeling: Proteome analysis restricted due to signal overlap.

Mass labeling: High resolution of analysis makes it suitable for multiplex proteome analysis.
